The 25 pieces are a very welcome addition to the sparse literature for the flute 'senza' basso'.
The Source used for our edition was a manuscipt belonging to the Royal Library of Copenhagen, kept there under No. mu 6210.2931 Giedde's Samling I, 26 and titled: 'Sonata ... Del Sig. Graun'.
THE AUTOGRAPH: 'The Solfeggi are not a composition in the usual sense but the record, which has happened to survive, of the lessons given by a flute teacher.'
