John Towner Williams (born February 8, 1932 in New York), John Williams for short, is undoubtedly one of the greatest film music composers of our time.

For five of them, Williams received the Oscar in the “Best Music” category — Schindler's List is one of them. John Williams won the Grammy Award for 24 other films, as well as numerous other awards such as the British Academy Film Award and the Emmy Award.

Who is John Williams?
You can say that John Williams (who learned to read music at the age of three) had a picture-perfect musical career: at 16, Williams was already studying composition at the University of California, and at 18, piano at the renowned Julliard School In New York, at the age of 19, John Williams' first piano sonata was published. Other classical works followed — and he began writing music for television and Hollywood.
John Williams — the film music composer
Finally, John Williams achieved his breakthrough as a film music composer with the films The Poseidon Adventure (1972) and the film classic Jaws (1975). However, John Williams will be familiar to most people who are interested in Star Wars trilogy: John Williams was 45 years old when he wrote the Oscar-winning music for the science fiction epic, which will probably forever be remembered in history one of the greatest film scores of all time. The The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme) became the epitome of the march of evil and is often quoted humming or whistling at critical moments.

And finally John Williams also appears as a conductor in to the public, most recently in 2020 with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and in 2021 in Berlin with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
