Martin Schädlich's modern school is tailored to the needs of young and adult beginners: The division into chapters with thematic focuses and concluding knowledge tests allows for flexible use: thus, beginners with no previous knowledge as well as trumpet beginners with already existing basic musical knowledge can work with these books. Volume 2 extends the tonal range step by step up to c''' in the first 6 (of 11) lessons and introduces new rhythms and note values (triplets, dotted rhythms, ternary playing). Special emphasis is placed on developing musical playing and becoming familiar with all major musical styles from baroque to jazz and rock/pop. In the popular styles, the method gives many tips and suggestions on improvisation. The final part is made up of specific exercises and literature examples for the use of the trumpet in the classical symphony orchestra, in chamber music, in the symphonic wind orchestra and in the brass band. All important pieces are included on the CD as full version (audio file) and as playback (mp3).
