Nikolai Andreevič Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908) composed his opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan in 1899-1900. Ironically, although he composed another 14 operas and countless orchestral works, an extremely brief interlude from that same opera also became his best-known Plant. The Flight of the Bumblebee.
