Bob Zottola, a trumpet and flugel horn player whose versatility across many musical genres has performed with the American Ballet Orchestra, and with Quincy Jones and toured the world with Chick Corea. Bob's accompanied such stars as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Rosemary Clooney, Stevie Wonder, Mel Torme, and Peggy Lee along with a long list of NYC Broadway performances: West Side Story, Chicago, 42nd Street, Hello Dolly! and a 16-year run with Les Miserables polished his multi-faceted musical abilities to what they are today. Bob has also worked with Gerry Mulligan, Dizzy Gillespie, Tom Jones, Marvin Hamlisch, Diana Ross, Julio Iglesias, Glenn Miller, USAF Band, Gladys Knight, Johnny Mathis, Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson, Charlie Barnet, Cab Calloway, Michael Jackson, Roberta Peters, Ray Charles, BB King, Duke Ellington, and perhaps another fifty stellar performers of our times. This recording features -a high-quality, newly engraved printed edition of the transcribed note-for-note trumpet solo part. -a compact disc containing the complete performance of each piece in digital stereo, followed by a second digital stereo version minus the soloist. Bob has created a fun, easy way to learn to play jazz without all the effort spent learning theory, chords, and scales. These volumes present a musical and melodic approach to jazz by ornamenting the melody. 1. Listen 2. Play it Bob's way 3. Play it your way. Simple! This approach works for a beginner or advanced jazz student, a classical musician like me or someone who just enjoys playing along. Alex Holton- New York classical, Broadway and free-lance trumpeter.
