More than 40 'unloved' works? With this volume, the complete edition 'Jean Sibelius Works' has once again taken a decisive step forward: All piano works that the composer himself marked with opus numbers and thus validly bequeathed to posterity have been published. The piano pieces between op. 85 and op. 114 were written during the First World War, but especially in the first post-war years until 1924, when Sibelius once again devoted himself intensively to piano composition for various reasons - and not only for lack of money. The more than 40 works impressively disprove that the piano was actually an unloved instrument for the composer, and with the small collection op. 114 the user even arrives at the memorable year 1929, when Sibelius ended his compositional activity once and for all.
