reviews'The 1st volume of the School for Children is richly equipped: attractively illustrated in colour...'
'Two things are particularly formative for this school: the precisely coordinated 24 musical miniatures by Daniel Hellbach and the improvisation with the inclusion of the right hand from the very beginning. 22 children's songs and small pieces bring colour and change and you can feel everywhere: Experts with attention to detail were at work here.'
Siegfried Busch in 'Wind

Tunnel'In this course, the author combines tried and tested learning methods with novel ideas. The subject matter is covered on 4 parallel levels, which make learning colourful and varied:

. Play pieces
. Technical exercises
. Theory and knowledge of sheet music
. Improvisations

1. Pieces
The approximately 60 pieces of the first volume begin with a simple 2-tone melody and gradually lead to the title song from the film 'Titanic'.

. Compositions by Daniel Hellbach
. Folk songs from different countries
. Pieces by other composers

2. Technical exercises
At regular intervals, technical exercises are interspersed, which are referred to as 'training'. With the help of grip diagrams, the student can train technical processes here. There are no limits to the teacher's imagination, the specified fingering connections can be trained, for example, with different articulations or rhythmically. This new concept also allows the practice of fingering connections that the children cannot yet read as a musical text (e.g. right hand from the beginning).

3. Theory and knowledge of notes
Fingering and knowledge of notes can be deepened and tested on the pages known as 'music quiz'. The pupil solves these tasks in writing.

4. Improvisations
A special feature of the BlockflötenBox are improvisations according to chordal patterns, which deepen what has been learned in a playful and creative way. In this type of improvisation, the student receives a stock of notes in fingering patterns.

All recordings can be downloaded free of charge as mp3 files. The play-along CDs are available free of charge on request directly from the publisher.
