Nico Samitz has been involved in composition for chamber music since his school days. For more than ten years he has been writing works in a wide variety of genres for the ensemble "BlechReiz BrassQuintett", in which he himself plays trumpet and piano. His field of experimentation ranges from classical works to jazz compositions and meditative music, even almost to pop songs. While refining his skills in areas such as composition and ear training at the Mozarteum Salzburg, Nico became acquainted with a large number of works as a trumpeter with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic and the Bavarian State Opera, which influenced his writing style. The driving forces behind his creative work are passion, the enjoyment of music and the desire to communicate in a musical way and to express feelings that are difficult to put into words. Like many of his works, he composed The Joy of Freedom for the "BlechReiz Brass Quintet". The catchy melody is processed in various styles throughout the work and thus receives "earworm quality".
