The organ accompaniment material for the New Protestant Hymnal is available in two forms: as a "loose-leaf collection" as cards made of hard-wearing cardboard, or in the classic book form (Edition 3101).
In both versions, two accompaniment movements are offered for each hymn of the EG main part and the Bavarian-Thuringian regional part (A movement mostly four-part, i.e. arranged for playing on manual and pedal, B movement mostly three-part, i.e. designed for manual playing), plus movements for the orders of service. While each hymn number in the box contains (sometimes different) movements, the book edition contains the usual references to the main hymn where a melody occurs more than once.
