These are lovable, playful genre pieces that serve musical entertainment in the best sense of the word. Highly recommended as an encore.

The sonatas belong to the best of the Gebrauchsmusik in Rosenmüller's wake. Characteristic is the pseudo-polyphonic writing in dualism with concertante solemn homophonic intermediate movements.

An 'original' borrowing of the piece for viola and cello and piano, which is in no way inferior to the string version and acquires a distinctive tonal note in the instrumentation with harp.

One of the few works in the literature that fully captures the low registers of viola and cello. Easy to perform.
