Wilton Jameson Aebersold (b. July 21, 1939 in New Albany, Indiana), or Jamey Aebersold for short, is an American jazz saxophonist best known for his recordings of the Play-A-Long recordings accompanying the instructional booklets of the same name, published since 1967.
The CDs accompanying the booklets are produced in such a way that the bass and piano are each recorded on a mono channel on the left or right, so that you as a bassist or pianist can mute the respective channel by means of the balance control and play your own voice to it. The drums, which were recorded in the middle, can always be heard. In the booklets you will find sheet music for your instrument in the most important transpositions of jazz, i.e. for Bb / Eb instruments as well as sounding in T.C. (Treble Clef = treble clef) and B.C. (Bass Clef = bass clef).
Successively, the publisher is converting its booklets, so that newer editions are not accompanied by CDs, but online audio links to download the accompanying music.
You can search our online store specifically for titles by Jamey Aebersold, for example, spelling aebersold 56 for his booklet Aebersold Vol.56 Thelonious Monk.
