Description:
This is an aggressive, uptempo composition featuring improvised solos for tenor saxophone and trumpet. Composed by trumpeter Ken Edwards and Maynard Ferguson's last drummer/music director Stockton Helbing, 'Indiscretions' shows off your band's skill at playing over a driving straight-eight 7/4 groove. A tuneful melody is passed around the band, leading into solos by the first tenor saxophonist and fourth trumpeter, divided by a funky interlude. After the solos, the ensemble plays an exciting shout section with conservative brass leads followed by a brief recap of the melody. No doubles are required of the saxophones. Top note for lead trumpet is a written high Eb, and top note for lead trombone is a written high Bb.5 saxes, 4 Trpts.,4 Bones, G,P,B,D. No doubles. Medium Difficult.
