Description:
Diffusion' is a medium swing tune featuring improvised solos for tenor saxophone and trumpet.Textyral brass chords progress into the melody presented by trumpet and tenor saxophone. The bridge features a unique chord sequence in which minor chords descend by major thirds, gifing the soloists challenging yet exciting changes on which they can improvise. This composition was commissioned by the late Maynard Ferguson. First alto saxophone doubles on a brief and accessible flute part. Top note for lead trumpet is a written G#3, and top note for lead trombone is a written C2.
