Description:
This great swing chart was originally recorded by Les Brown and his Band Of Renown in October 1952 and released on the Coral record label (9-60820). Our research suggests that the original arrangement was scored by Wes Hensel. The chart itself features solo space for Clarinet (Alto 1), Piano, Guitar and Trombone as well as some outstanding sectional passages interspersed with big, punchy ensembles. The arrangement is not an easy blow and it puts some demands on brass ranges. All four Trumpets are written to high D for the unison section at the close of the chart. Lead Trombone is written to high Db, with Trombone 2 reaching Bb. Saxes are scored AATTB, with Alto 1 doubling Clarinet. So, if you have a Christmas gig and want to offer something a little bit different, whilst showcasing the talents in your band, this chart is for you.
