An extended feature for alto saxophone based on pretty ballad style melody, followed by a swing section where the alto leads the section through a difficult soli, and concluding with a fast jazz samba and a brief re-statement of the original theme. Requires a strong alto saxophone soloist. This is my tribute to my first composition mentor and one of the founders of jazz edcation, Mr. Ladd McIntosh, with whom I studied jazz as well as 'life in general' in Salt Lake City some thirty odd years ago.
