Description:
Composed by Mark Levine arr by Bob. A 'McCoy Tyner meets Eddie Palmieri' minor blues set in a burning rumba guaguanco groove. Solo changes are in all parts, with backgrounds cued. After the solo sections, the ensemble exchanges 8's with the drummer for two choruses. Alto sax 1 and tenor sax 1 both double soprano sax. Optional congas and hand percussion (chekere, cow bell, and claves) will lend authenticity. Lead trumpet extends briefly to a written high G above the staff. Originally recorded by Mark Levine's Latin Tinge group (title track), this arrangement is recorded by the University of Northern Iowa Jazz Band One on Sea Breeze Vista.
