Description:
This blues is a great introduction to second line for a high school big band. It alternates between a New Orleans groove and swing. The melody is a simple riff blues, but the regular blues chords have been re-harmonized to add interest. Solos are written for tenor, trumpet, and bass; however, these would be easily flexible given the simple form. The saxophone section is featured in two choruses of soli, and the entire band is featured in an ensemble shout section. Trumpet range A5. 5 Saxes/4 Tpts/4Bones/G/P/B/D. Medium Difficult.
