Snowbird Samba is a frisky up tempo samba featuring a front line of two soprano saxes and two trumpets. It has a lot of open blowing space for soloists in all sections. The recording features this version, but the form of the tune and blowing spaces are the same. The big band version was originally written as a feature for Joe Henderson and the summer Snowbird Jazz camp big band.Trpt. 1 to written high D. 5 Saxes - Alto 1 and Tenor 1 on soprano sax,5 trumpets, 4 bones, G/P/B/D.Soloists - trombone, piano or guitar, changes included fot trpt. 2 & 3 and alto 1 and tenor 1.
