In 1984, the Federal Academy for Musical Youth Education in Trossingen acquired a portion of the manuscripts and printed compositions from various groups of works in Hermann Ambrosius’s estate. Another portion of the estate remained at the municipal museum in the town of Engen, where Ambrosius died in 1983. A third portion was cataloged by the Berlin State Library "Preussischer Kulturbesitz" under the call number "N.Mus. Nachl. 85."
