Description:
Dear readers,
For many years, the Theological Committee of the Evangelical Trombone Service in Germany (EPiD) has been publishing this devotional book. Originally, it was primarily intended for trombone choirs. In the meantime, other groups also like to make use of the short spiritual impulses. Various topics have been covered in recent years. In 2006, the devotional book, which focused in particular on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, met with a great response. The following year, the focus was on Paul Gerhardt and his songs. In 2008, the focus was on a meditative walk through the church interior with its symbols. In 2009, the current meaning of the creed was considered. Last year, links were drawn between musical concepts and personal life and faith. Many thanks to all the authors who bravely embarked on the adventure of writing a devotional on a given text or term, thus illustrating the diversity of the trombone works in the EPiD!
This year, the weekly sayings will be interpreted. By making small changes, such as adding or replacing individual words or parts of sentences, they are sometimes alienated. This encourages reflection and opens up a different perspective on the well-known Bible verse. The statements of the weekly sayings should not simply be rehashed, but I find it exciting how a familiar word can be made to sound new through different perspectives.
The pictures are by Tabea Vahlenkamp, who has designed wind calendars with outstanding artistic photography in recent years. She lives in Erkner (Brandenburg) and is known for her exhibitions throughout Germany.

Chairman of the Theological Committee of EPiD e.V.
