Description:
The 3 Danses (Dances) for tuba and piano, written in a contrasting style, are intended for the modern tuba player's recital repertoire. The first dance, Molto Tango, in the form of verse/refrain transports us to Argentina. The second, Passacaille à deux, is melancholy, a kind of reminiscence of the happy moments of our childhood. The last, Gigue tronquée, is a systematic, playful struggle between the dance movement and disruptive elements of development; a lively and dynamic ending, as in the time of the baroque suites.
