Description:
The Barcarolle, known from the film L'Ours by Jean-Jacques Annaud, is a deeply poetic work by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It originally comes from the piano cycle The Seasons, op. 37a. The Barcarolle is reminiscent of the gentle, steady rocking of a gondola on the water and creates an atmosphere that is both intimate and contemplative. In the film, the music emphasizes the majestic beauty and emotional depth of wild nature. The lyrical expression and elegant melodic line, carried by a flowing accompaniment, create a mood of tranquillity and subtle nostalgia. In the arrangement by Jean-François Michel, the subtle expressiveness of the work is preserved and enriched by warm, colorful orchestral sounds. This version emphasizes the tonal nuances and offers the performers the opportunity to develop sensitivity, balance and musical creativity in an atmosphere of delicate dreaminess.
