Description:
Alexandre Dumas (1802-1879) published his chivalric novel entitled 'The 3 Musketeers' in 1844. The book became a worldwide success with countless theater, film and television adaptations. Jean-François Michel invites 4 cornet or trumpet soloists to play heroically bold adventurers with their peaceful instruments. Pirouettes, intervallic leaps or lyrical musical gimmicks encourage the soloists' inventiveness in this breathtaking adventure with a matching brass band accompaniment (BIM TP336b/c - or with wind orchestra BIM TP336d/e - score and parts). Performance note: This piece can be played with guest soloists. In this case, the tutti cornet/trumpet parts can be distributed as follows: Tutti 1 = solo cornet Tutti 2 = repiano cornets and 2nd cornets Tutti 3 = 3rd cornets Should the soloist parts be played by the solo cornets of the brass band: Tutti 1 = at least 2 cornets Tutti 2 = at least 2 cornets Tutti 3 = at least 1 cornet
