El Diablo Suelto is one of the best-known works in the traditional Venezuelan repertoire and was composed by Heraclio Fernández in the 19th century. This virtuosic piece, based on the joropo rhythm, conveys an exuberant energy and an almost diabolical character, as the title suggests.
