Description:
Stefan Jaeggi’s *General Guisan* pays tribute to one of the most influential figures in Swiss military history. Henri Guisan, a general in the Swiss Army during World War II, embodies determination, a sense of responsibility, and a deep attachment to his country. With this work, Stefan Jaeggi commemorates, with energy and solemnity, the character of this man who became a national symbol. The music alternates between majestic passages and expressive, striking moments. The various themes take turns expressing strength, courage, and confidence. Overall, the work conveys a character that is both heroic and deeply respectful. "General Guisan" is thus a musical tribute to a significant figure in Swiss contemporary history. An expressive work that is particularly well-suited for festive or historical programs.
