Description:
Langeberglaatten is a lydarlaatt* and is most often performed on langeleik. The laatt exists in different variations and is played in several ways. Of the langeleik players from Valdres, these have made CD recordings of it: Elisabeth Kværne, Knut and Ole Aastad Bråten, Lise Lunde Brennhagen. Old recordings by Olav Snortheim were released on CD a few years ago on the record label ta:lik. There are also several other old recordings in the folk music archive at Valdres Museum.
In the band arrangements, it have been used sequences of different variations, among other things to adapt the song for wind instruments. In the process surrounding the Arvegods project for Korpsnett Norge, the arrangers had a great collaboration with former folk music archivist Elisabeth Kværne (1953 – 2024), who contributed with good suggestions for tunes that could be suitable for wind instruments, as well as many good tips and advice. So us who arranged the music are very grateful for her efforts in making the project possible!
