Description:
‘Love of My Life’ is a ballad from the album A Night at the Opera by English rock band Queen. A live version of the song was released as a single in June 1979 and reached No 1 in Argentina and Brazil. The song had been written by Freddie Mercury for Mary Austin, Freddie’s girlfriend at the time. With the similar theme, the later single These Are the Days of Our Lives referred back to Love of My Life, with the song containing the line ‘I still love you’ twice. At the end of that song, Freddie Mercury pronounces the line normally, just as he does in the live version of Love of My Life. Frank Bernaerts wrote a sentimental arrangement of this Queen hit.
