MEDITATION for organ and brass band is the last movement of the work entitled The Visit to the Cathedral. This piece invites you to immerse yourself musically in the majestic world of Gothic architecture. It evokes the moment of reverence and wonder that visitors experience when they enter the nave of a cathedral. The organ, with its deep and solemn timbres, enters into a dialog with the brass band in an atmosphere of serenity and grandeur. The music rises slowly, as if carried by the pillars and the vaults reaching towards the heavens. The alternation between power and lightness conveys the impression of infinite space and the vertical momentum that is characteristic of Gothic architecture. MEDITATION is both an intimate prayer and an artistic contemplation. It reflects the light that falls through the stained glass windows, the gentle resonances that fill the building and the sense of peace that only a cathedral can convey. Jean-François Michel has created a poetic and inspired work that combines spiritual depth with sonorous richness and concludes this musical visit to the heart of the sacred with emotion.
