About the volume: This volume collects a selection of choral compositions for the liturgy, largely created and performed at the Church of San Giovanni Canzio in Chicago, where the author has been music director since 2020. The pieces are in the tradition of sacred music, with particular attention to the centrality of the text and the clarity of the choral writing. Alongside the motets in Latin, revised Italian versions of previously published compositions are included. The different vocal and instrumental solutions – from a cappella singing to organ and orchestral accompaniment – reflect a musical research oriented towards the service of the liturgy and prayer.
