The Missa in c KV 427 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is a fascinating work. To speak of "the" mass alone is inaccurate, as it is basically nothing more than a musical torso, full of riddles and problems - and full of great music.

Since the 19th century, attempts have been made to make Mozart's fragment performable. These reconstructions sound very different depending on when they were written and the background of the arranger, and the individual handwriting of the respective arranger is often clearly evident. Frieder Bernius and Uwe Wolf have presented an edition of the Mozart Mass that attempts to enable performance with the greatest respect for the existing material without covering up Mozart's musical handwriting with their own additions. The joint version by the renowned musicologist Wolf and Bernius, an expert in historically informed performance practice, is based on sound knowledge of Mozart's compositions, his notation habits and the church music practice of Mozart's time. At the same time, it fully meets the demands of today's musical practice.

In addition to the paperback score, a high-quality cloth score including a facsimile with selected reproductions of the sources is also available.

The premiere recording with the Kammerchor Stuttgart and the Barockorchester Stuttgart under the direction of Frieder Bernius is also available.
