About the volume: A collection of choral and vocal compositions by Roberto Bacchini on texts attributed to St. Francis of Assisi, born within an artistic and spiritual project promoted by the Cantoria di Giubiasco. The music is a conscious mediation between the poetic power of the Franciscan texts and an accessible sound writing, designed for liturgical and community use. At the center emerges a profoundly Christian reading of creation, poverty and praise, in constant dialogue with the biblical and psalmodic tradition. About the author: Roberto Bacchini graduated with honors from the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Milan in Gregorian Chant. He studied composition with maestro Luigi Molfino and organ and organ composition with masters Franco Castelli and Emanuele Vianelli. Composer of vocal, instrumental and choral music, he has published several music collections and has given numerous concerts also conducting the Orchestra of the Academy of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and collaborating with internationally renowned names such as: the double bass player Giuseppe Ettorre, the violinist Guido Rimonda, the double bass player Milton Masciadri, the soprano Barbara Frittoli, the pianist Andrea Bacchetti. He collaborates regularly with the first parts of the Rai National Symphony Orchestra of Turin (the oboist Carlo Romano, the violist Ula Ulijona, the cellist Massimo Macrì) as harpsichordist and arranger. He was titular organist of the Mascioni Organ Op. 682 at the Collegiate Church of San Provino in Agno (Switzerland) until 2021.
