The Protestant chorale played a major role for Mendelssohn from an early age. Inspired by Bach's work, he also composed cantatas on chorales, including the still well-known and popular Lutheran Christmas hymn "Vom Himmel hoch". When the voices confidently enter one after the other in the opening chorus and the phrasing takes on a heavenly lightness of tone, then it could be Christmas. / Carus Choir Coach offers choir singers the unique opportunity to individually rehearse their choir voice in the overall sound of choir and instruments. An mp3 CD or download album with all choral parts is available for each voice part. The Carus Choir Coach is based on recordings by renowned interpreters who have performed from the carefully prepared Carus Urtext edition.
