On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Herbert Beuerle (1911-1994), this collection of choral settings for equal voices with previously unpublished or hardly accessible pieces is published from the estate. It complements the choral booklet "Auf Erden hier unten, im Himmel dort oben" for soprano, alto and male voices (Strube Edition 6481) and is intended to enrich the practice of singing in church music and schools, especially in women's choirs and children's choirs; several movements can also be performed by men. The musical arrangement ranges from simple two-part harmony to four-part harmony and in some places beyond. Numerous movements are provided with additional parts ad libitum, which can be performed both vocally and instrumentally. In general, the variable performance practice typical of Herbert Beuerle may be recalled: Melodic or keyboard instruments can thus be added to the vocal parts. The chorale pieces in particular are also suitable as instrumental preludes or interludes to the choral movements or to congregational singing. A large number of Beuerle's choral settings for equal voices are based on songs that are sung today in all denominations, indeed in ecumenical unity. For hymnbook songs, the number of the Protestant hymnbook (EG) is given. For Catholic use, the verse selection for some songs can easily be adapted to the "Gotteslob" hymnal. Overall, the selection ranges from the beginning to the end of the church year, supplemented by the times of day and aspects of the circle of life. Psalm songs enrich this spectrum, as does the "love of creation", which also allows small excursions into the secular repertoire.
