Schubert's Mass in C major is not difficult for the choir in terms of the notes, and yet there are always surprises when they meet the orchestra: The violins are often written in continuous semiquavers or, as in the Sanctus, in complementary rhythms, while the choir has to endure long note values. If the choir is not perfectly rhythmic, the interplay becomes difficult. It's good if you already have the orchestra in your ear, as well as for the more unusual modulations in the Credo. / Carus Choir Coach offers choir singers the unique opportunity to individually rehearse their choral part in the overall sound of choir and instruments. A separate mp3 audio CD or download album with all choral parts is available for each voice part. The Carus Choir Coach is based on recordings by renowned interpreters who have performed from the carefully prepared Carus Urtext edition. The choral movements are available in three versions: 1) original recording, 2) Coach: each part is played along on the piano, original recording in the background, 3) Coach in slow mode: complicated parts can be practiced effectively by reducing the tempo of the Coach to 70% of the original. / The musicians are: Ildiko Raimondi (soprano), Elisabeth Lang (alto), Helmut Wildhaber (tenore), Klaus Mertens (basso) - Hugo Distler Choir, Vienna Academy - Katrin Haselböck.
