Description:
Mozarts 'Missa in C-Dur' KV 317, unbegründeterweise 'Krönungsmesse' genannt, zählt zu den beliebtesten und am meisten aufgeführten Werken ihrer Gattung. Das in vieler Hinsicht aufschlussreiche Autograph der Messe galt nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg als verschollen, befindet sich jedoch, wie erst Ende der 1970er Jahre bekannt wurde, in der an musikalischen Schätzen reichen Biblioteka Jagiellonska in Kraków. Nach dieser einzigen zweifelsfrei authentischen Quelle hat der Herausgeber Ulrich Leisinger seine Edition erstellt, wobei im Kritischen Bericht eine frühe Stimmenabschrift (Fügerl) ergänzend mit ausgewertet wurde, da solche späteren Kopien in Detailfragen oft wichtige Aufschlüsse geben, etwa zu Fragen der historischen Aufführungspraxis.
