Description:
Kodály's 'Ave Maria' was composed for a three-part a cappella women's choir in 1935. The Cecilia Choir of the Roman-Catholic Theological University performed the premiere of this piece on December, 8th 1936 in Eger (Hungary). The conductor was Dezsö Bitter. This edition of the vocal score includes an additional piano voice put underneath the singing voices for the purpose of rehearsals.
