Description:
In this arrangement of Gabriel Fauré's Requiem for soloists, female choir SSAA and organ, the tenor and bass parts are divided between the alto parts. This necessitates occasional adjustments in the voice leading, which have been made with great care.
The second soprano takes over the original alto part largely unchanged, the original baritone solo is heard here in the alto.
The organ arrangement was created with all three versions of the work in mind, but primarily follows the second version of 1893 in the rhythmic presentation of the instrumental parts. The organ part is tailored to the arrangement and does not require a mere imitation of the orchestral sound.
This edition is compatible with the performance material of the original version (BA 9461).
