Description:
Haydn probably wrote his short mass in 1775 for the Order of the Brothers of Mercy in the Eisenstadt monastery. The work owes its nickname 'Little Organ Mass' to the Benedictus with its organ solo.
This arrangement for women's choir SMezAA is based on the Joseph Haydn Complete Edition. The original soprano and alto parts have been taken over largely unchanged in the choir, the soprano solo in the Benedictus has been retained. The tenor and bass parts are divided between the mezzo-soprano and alto parts. Careful modifications are occasionally necessary to preserve the harmonic structure. With great expertise, Heribert Breuer preserves the substance of the original work and at the same time gives the mass a completely new and attractive sound character.
> Arrangement for choir SMezAA based on the complete edition of Joseph Haydn's works
> Easy-to-play piano reduction
