Description:
The familiar Latin text, ‘Tantum ergo Sacramentum’ (‘Therefore only the sacrament’), attributed to the 13th-century St Thomas Aquinus is here set by Anna Lapwood in simple strophic form for upper voices. Composed for Lapwood’s Girls’ Choir at Pembroke College, Cambridge, the voices divide into two parts for a small portion of the second verse and are accompanied by simple and supportive organ part. Suitable as a straightforward introit or communion motet, or as a short concert piece for children’s choirs.
