Jennah Vainio's (b. 1972) For Such a Time As This was commissioned for YL Male Voice Choir's 140th anniversary concert in 2023. The songs deal with topics such as motherhood, war, longing for children, grief, loss and self-esteem issues. Although the texts are very personal, they are also universal at the same time - regardless of gender, and composed "for such a time as this". The percussion parts are included in the choral score and can be played by the choir members. The individual songs can also be performed one by one in other contexts.
