I would like to thank the Male Voice Choir and its committee for giving me the opportunity to compose this mass to mark the centenary of their society. It really was a commission "from the heart". Every time I come to Barberêche, memories come flooding back to me - musical emotions that still enchant me today. They are also memories of unforgettable people that I was lucky enough to meet. It is difficult for me to put into words the great joy I felt when composing this mass. I hope that my score will express this deep joy in an even more convincing way.
