Description:
The Sound of Silence was written and released by Paul Simon as early as 1964, but it was relatively unsuccessful. It wasn't until a second version—which included drums, bass, and electric guitar—that the song achieved greater success. In 1967, the song appeared in the film "The Graduate" and on the accompanying soundtrack album. In 2004, the song was selected by "Rolling Stone" magazine as one of the 500 greatest songs of all time.\r
