Description:
In Frederic Mattes' emphatic, sensitive arrangement of the well-known Amazing Grace, the accompanying choir lays down in effective harmonies under the soprano's leading melody. Gradually, the accompanying voices join in, leading to the climax of the piece with deliberately used dynamics. Towards the end, the tenor takes over the melody from the soprano, before the work ends in simple monophony, as it began.
