This setting of the text from the Gospel of Luke was conceived for two female voices and one male voice. The range of the male part was designed in such a way that choirs without high tenors/low basses can also include this work in their repertoire. In terms of sound, this work offers the sophistication of a text shifted against the beat, whereby the longing for God becomes musically tangible and yet ultimately the longing comes to rest in the Risen Christ.
