Many congregations cannot celebrate Christmas without 'Jauchzet, frohlocket, auf, preiset die Tage', but often the instrumental possibilities and financial means for an originally scored performance are lacking.
These requirements are met by this arrangement of the well-known and popular choral movements from the first three parts of Bach's Christmas Oratorio, which continues our 'Choir & Organ' series.
A follow-up volume with the choral settings of parts IV-VI is in planning.

Holger Gehring,
since 2004 cruciform organist in Dresden, also teaches organ literature and organ improvisation at the universities in Dresden and Leipzig. In cooperation with the Dresdner Kreuzchor and as a solo organist and harpsichordist, he performs in concerts at home and abroad.
