Description:
The desperate attempt to finally fall asleep and then the ticking of a clock somewhere in the room - or even two clocks - who hasn't experienced this? The ticking hammers its way into your consciousness and sleep is no longer an option. Time suddenly becomes very vivid, the clock begins to speak. And if clocks can talk, why not turn voices into clocks? Marc L. Vogler's composition "Clockwork" is based on this: by speaking rhythmically, the singers become clockworks that disturb the night's sleep. They enter into dialog, get into polyphonic metrical conflicts and interlock in various ways, like the cogwheels of a clock. Rhythmically precise, the work develops a rousing groove. Isolated sound surfaces break through the rhythmic events and make "Clockwork" a very entertaining and expressive work. The composer Marc L. Vogler has already won numerous prizes for his works. "Clockwork" was awarded 3rd prize in the "Nocturne" competition, which was organized by the Voktett Hannover as part of chor.com.
