Paul Gerhardt wrote this lively and cheerful hymn of praise in 1653 and it is one of the most beautiful songs in our hymnal. Our edition was published in the series "Chorals In Jazz" in typical jazz harmony in a 5-part polyphonic setting (S.S.A.T.B.) a cappella. There are numerous texts to this well-known melody which have been added to this edition: Nun danket all und bringet Ehr, Come, Let Us Join Our Cheerful Songs, Spirit Divine and Lamb of Our Feet.
