Bach's cantata BWV 151, whose wonderfully intimate opening aria is rightly considered one of Bach's "happiest inspirations" (Alfred Dürr), was composed for Christmas Day 1725. The flute and oboe d'amore lend the overall rather chamber music-like sound a lovely pastoral coloration. The oboe d'amore was not even included in Bach's composition score; rather, Bach only added its part after the score was completed when writing out the parts for the first performance. In a revival around 1728-1731, Bach assigned the flute part to a solo violin instead and provided the part with all kinds of performance markings and ornaments, which can serve as inspiration for the flutist to shape his part, which is rather sparsely marked in the original.
