Description:
De sancto Pelagio et sancto Theodolo is a transcription of a work for choir and large orchestra. It was commissioned by the Knabenkantorei Basel.
The texts come from the Cantionale chants of the last Carthusian monk in Basel, Thomas Kress, and have the same medieval roots as Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana".
The music conveys a similarly archaic feeling, the interpretation of the text about the two saints Pelagius and Theodolus takes place in a solemn, sacred atmosphere.
