Description:
Do not neglect is a stand-alone movement from Kim André Arnesen's large-scale choral work The Stranger, which uses a thought-provoking New Testament text from chapter 13 of Hebrews: 'Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. (Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it). It is a short text, but one whose meaning is worth pondering for each of us, and it is this inner reflection that is portrayed in this beautiful, solemn and largely homophonic piece. The work is scored for choir and cello, one of the composer's favorite combinations, but it can also be performed as an a cappella piece. The cello part is included in this choral score.
